Herb Introduction

This introductory course provides a comprehensive foundation in the field of herbology. It covers the identification, properties, functions, and applications of commonly used herbs. Practical experience in horticulture and herbal dispensary methods is also integrated into the curriculum.

Attendance

Regular attendance is highly recommended. Participation in all course activities and discussions is expected. If you are unable to attend a class, please notify the instructor beforehand if possible.

Passing Mark

Successful completion of this course requires that students achieve a minimum of 60% or higher. All evaluations must be completed and handed in on time for a course grade. Attendance will account for 10% of the final mark.

  • Explain the structure and function of various body tissues.
  • Understand the organization of the body’s major systems.
  • Locate key bones, muscles, and blood supply in the head, trunk, and limbs.
  • Describe the range of joint articulation and the role of major muscles in coordinating movement.
  • Identify abdominal and thoracic regions and their corresponding internal structures.
  • Recognize surface anatomical structures essential for locating acupuncture points.
  • Identify local anatomy in areas where acupuncture poses inherent injury risks.
