Acupuncture Technique

This course provides students with theory and practice of needling techniques and adjunctive therapies commonly applied during acupuncture, including Moxibustion, Cupping, Guasha, Electro-Acupuncture, Laser Acupuncture, and Fire Needling. Students will be guided on how to apply these needling and stimulation techniques safely and effectively. They will practically be introduced to needling commonly used points on the four limbs and applying adjunctive therapies. Managing risks to patients, adverse reactions, and accidents resulting from treatment will also be emphasized.

Attendance

Regular attendance is highly recommended. Participation in all course activities and discussions is expected. If you are unable to attend a class, please notify the instructor beforehand if possible.

Passing Mark

Successful completion of this course requires that students achieve a minimum of 60% or higher. All evaluations must be completed and handed in on time for a course grade. Attendance will account for 10% of the final mark.

  • Learn to manage adverse reactions and accidents resulting from acupuncture treatments.
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies in an acupuncture setting.
  • Develop knowledge of safety precautions and accident prevention in acupuncture treatment.
