Foundation of TCM 1 – FUND 1101

This course introduces the basic theoretical concepts of TCM physiology which include Yin Yang theory, wu xing (five elements), energy (Qi), Blood (Xue), body fluids (Jin-ye) essence (Jing), and spirit (Shen) in general and in relation to TCM. In addition, the general features, physiological functions and pathological changes of the zang-fu organs in Chinese medicine will be discussed in this course to give the interrelationships between zang-fu organs, both in physiology and pathology.
